700 parents have received vocational training in construction, welding, furniture building, and sewing. Many have entered the labor market and many of those trained have started their own businesses and others have gone ahead to study further. Sewing program. Seamstresses start by making school uniforms and sports clothing for school soccer, cricket, and track teams. Sales of casual clothing and curtains support the program. Grand opening of the Accredited community training center, February, 2007. Completion of this government certified 6 week training program guarantees city and provincial construction jobs. One day’s salary is enough to pay one student’s annual school fees.

Table saw and instructor builds school desks and chairs. Industrious parents can then use the equipment to make lawn furniture, to be sold at the local market to support their families.
